Wiki Billing for social work time - LCSW

Hello,

We just hired on a new LCSW to our Cancer Center. My questions is how to bill for her time for people who wish to discuss resources, referrals, etc..

LCSW - cannot bill for Health and Behavior codes (96150-99368) and since patients are not presenting with mental health concerns codes (90801 - 90899) are not applicable either.

Can anyone help?

Can you bill incident to? I have no idea if thats allowed, but its just an idea that popped in my head. Otherwise I dont really know what to tell you.
 
LCSW Cancer Center

Did you have any other responses or find additional information regarding billing for LCSW in a Cancer Center?
 
According to a Medicare Advisory from Palmetto dated June 2007, a CSW can bill for 96150-96155. We are just looking into the possibility of a Social Worker in our Free Standing Cancer Center and am not finding anything stating we could not bill. Have you recieved any additional information?
