Hello everyone! hopefully someone is able to help me with this. I am new to the aspect of POL billing. We are a Dermatology practice in which we do a broad spectrum of procedures that have to deal with the skin. Currently we bill codes 88305, 88341 and 88342. We have our providers that bill the procedure codes whether a biopsy, destruction of lesion or procedure that requires a specimen to be submitted for processing. We have one dermatopathologist who processes the slides and reads them. We are running into issues as we bill with POS of 11 and are being denied as POS is not consistent with billed procedure code. We were told to use a POS of 99, which we did for a few labs, and they were paid, but not sure if this is correct. Is there anyone that can offer more insight on how to bill these labs?
