Hello, we are billing 87633 under independent lab with the place of service 81, But we are getting a denial from all payers with the place of service is not valid, could anyone please guide me can we bill 87633 under independent lab or what is the actual issue.?
 
I have found numerous policies that state that 87633 is only payable in POS 20, 21, or 23, as these are typically rendered to critically ill patients in a hospital, urgent care, or ER.

Other policies say they are not payable at all.
