We are a mental health facility moving into the world physical health. We are trying to figure out the guidelines around injectables. We would like to understand the guidelines around keeping injectable medications at our offices. We would like to know how to bill for the medication to our clients insurance. Any guidance on purchasing the injectable medications for the pharmacy would be appreciated also.

I would advise not trying to dip into the patient's pharmacy benefits. If it's a self-injectable, then they should pick it up at the pharmacy. If they need help learning how to inject, they should bring it to you.

What types of injectables are you looking at? Are you talking about things like Toradol for pain? Or are you looking at vaccines? Or something else?
