Wiki Billing inpatient encounters for different specialties with same Tax ID

Can someone please point me in the right direction to educate myself and my providers on inpatient billing? Specifically when the providers are billing under the same tax id but are different specialties? Will Medicare pay for two visits on same date of service if the providers are billing under the same Tax ID? Any input is appreciated.

Hello Alicia,

Yes, Medicare will cover since dx and specialties are different for each provider. We have been doing the same for a long time and paying for each provider separately.
