I am having difficulty in finding official guidance to provide to a practice about ordering lab tests with a non-credentialed NP that has signed the lab requisition but has a supervising credentialed physician listed. The practice wants us to bill the testing under the listed supervising credentialed physician. I am not feeling great about doing that just because the NP was not credentialed. Does anyone have official guidance and/or real-life experience with this type of situation they could share?
