Hello,

Medicaid plans are not paying psych codes such as 90871. I was told that these plans will only pay H codes. (eg H2019). Has anyone else ran into this issue? Unfortunately I cannot find much reading material on billing these codes.

Thanks in advance for any advise you may have.

I know that Medicaid Plans like HCPCS codes more than CPT codes especially in substance abuse and mental health. Do you have a HCPCS book so you can look over the H codes

I have checked into it but nothing definitive... for a 45 minute session claim should be billed as H2019 x 3 is what I understand. Is this correct?
