Please help--does anyone know the statue of limitation on sending a patient statement for balance owed--I am in Oklahoma.

No idea of actual limitation rules but the billing company ive worked for in past always had an internal policy of 1 year from DOS. Might check Federal Trade Commission website (FTC.gov) for more info.
 
We are in Michigan and the collection agency we use tells us that we can bill a patient for 6 years after the date of service or date of last payment.
 
I'm from Oklahoma.. Did INS just pay this claim? or have you'll just not sent out a bill for it? If INS just paid then we send out a bill. If we have sent out bills and they do not pay it goes to an outside billing agency. How old is the bill? We do write it off after a number of years
