We have a practice that is willing to unscheduled dermatology consults via telemedicine for our patients. I am wondering if we can bill for both an office visit and the hosting of the telemedicine visit (Q3014)on the same day.

Has anyone had this experience before?

Thanks,

Carol

So are you saying that your provider wants to see the patient and then on the same day have the patient see a dermatologist via telemedicine from your office? I don't think there are any rules against this so long as your office meets the criteria as an originating site and the other provider meets the qualifications as a distant site. if the providers are in the same locale then this would not meet the definition for telemedicine.
