I bill for a orthopedic group. I have a question if the orthopedics see a pt. in the hospital and surgery is not done by anyone in the group. Can we still bill for daily visits for the physician's in our group.
Yes, you can. I'm assuming your docs are consulting, so they can bill a consultation code or an initial visit depending on the payer. Subsequent visits (based on OP or IP status) may also be billed as long as the patient is seen, there's medical necessity, and surgery hasn't taken place.
