I work for a vascular surgeon who does a lot of wound care. We are often approached with new skin substitute products that he would like to use but we have difficulty with reimbursement. My question now is can we bill the application code 15271 without a Q code for the product? or do they have to be billed together? And if they have to be billed together will the 15271 be reimbursed when billed with a Q code that is not covered by Medicare?

Any help would be appreciated!!
