Patients are coming in for Biometric screenings or even Wellness. They want the labs billed with the V70.0 even though they have chronic conditions related to the labs, because "My insurance will pay". I thought we could only use screening if the patient is without illness. How can we bill a Lipid with a V70.0 if we know that the patient has a current diagnosis of hyperlipidemia? The same with Glucose screening with the V70.0 when we know that the patient is diabetic. Am I wrong in my thinking? Please help.
