Hi everyone,

I am new to eye care coding, so I'd really appreciate any help! This provider did a trabeculectomy on a glaucoma patient and four days later the patient had a bleb leak which was sutured. Is the correct code 66250 with a 78 modifier?

Thanks in advance! :)

Lori

Yes, if he took the patient back to the OR. If he did this bleb leak repair in the exam room, it is part of the initial surgery and cannot be billed separately.
