Does anyone have any information on BCBS of Illinois 5010 compliant or not? Also, anyone heard whether BCBS will be ready for I-10?

conversion to the 5010 and ICD-10 CM is not an option fro HIPAA entities they must convert at the appointed time or they will have penalties to pay. The mandatory date for the 5010 was July 2012 and ICD-10 CM is OCt 1, 2014

Yes, I agree it is mandated. My question is has anyone heard of anything that they will be paying penalties because they didn't comply?

I know someone that works at a commercial payer and the penalties will be stiff and swift according to her.
