MD performed a basic Total Knee replacement but also pt had a cyst in the proximal tibia. Doc performed a bone grafting of cyst. Here are the notes in relation jus to the cyst:

"Attention was directed to the proximal tibia. The tibia was brought forward with a large hooker retractor with smaller retractors medially and laterally. She was noted to have a large cyst medially. this appeared to be gelatinous material coming from the cyst. This was then curetted and the gelatinous tissue removed. This bone grafted after all constructs and cutting had been done on the bone.

The external tibial guide was used in determination of rotation and the depth of the cut and _______ the proximal tibial was determined. The cutting block was secured with pins, and alignment check and a cut was made on the proximal tibial. ( he then selects the components for the knee)

Copious irrigation with irrigating solution was performed. Bone graft was taken and the cyst lesion curetted and freed of all gelatinous material, and bone graft applied in the proximal tibia medially."
