What is the code for brain volume loss?
This is a nonspecific finding that could be age-related and/or unrelated to the reason for the exam. If the only finding is volume loss, you should code the presenting signs and symptoms.

"Low volume loss" is probably a euphemism for atrophy. When the brain shrinks, the cranium can fill up with CSF. Patients presenting with neuro type symptoms (all ages...I see this ) are often found to have atrophy on MRI. Of course, this is only one of many reasons for brain-related symptoms.
