Can CPT codes 31624 and 31652 be coded together? Don’t see any edits and no reason to add a modifier.
Bronchoalveolar lavage was done at RML ( right middle lobe). CPT 31624.
EBUS, multiple stations were examined and fine needle aspiration of the lymph node at station 7. CPT 31652
CPT 31652 was denied. Dx codes enlarged lymph nodes & abnormal diagnostic imaging. Path was negative
Any thoughts.
Thanks

I usually don't have issues billing these together.
I would use the abnormal imaging dx for the BAL and the enlarges lymph node for the EBUS, the different dx usually is the kicker for payment on my end.
