I have a patient that was seen by our Dr. for a burn caused by Dermatology appointment for hair removal on both legs. I have submitted claim using X19.XXXA also T24.1201A and T24.102A . Gateway is denying saying can not be primary DX code. This is way we saw this patient. Not sure what to use? Pam

Are you billing with the X19.XXXA as the primary diagnosis code? If so, this would be the issue as this a cause/event code. It would be coded after the identification of the actual injury which would be the burns.
