I have a chance to be employed as a part-time remote coder and this company's contract says I have to purchase a business license and become an independent contractor. Since it's in the contract I guess I HAVE to obtain a license. If I take this position and get a business license will I be responsible for any taxes such as self-employment taxes??? Will I be subject to any other expenses I don't know about??? Thanks for any information anyone may offer.
