Scenario:
Dr. A asks for assistance w/ opening his patient's abdomen due to a prior hernia repair w/ mesh.
Dr. B opens the abdomen.
Dr. A proceeds w/ the C-section delivery.
Dr. B closes the abdomen, again, due to the mesh involvement.
How would this be coded for each Doctor?

We believe this would be a "shared" code of 59514 w/ a -62 modifier. Does that sound right?
 
Correct.
We believe they would share the "delivery only" code for the delivery,
then Dr. A who did the ante/post partum care would have to use the separate ante & post partum codes for those visits. (59425 or 59426 and 59430) :-)
