we are a small practice & would like to know what the formula is for calculating our charges for our fees. we want to update our fee schedule to make sure we are getting reimbursed enough. we currently use Encoder Pro which has RVUs & a conversion factor but we are not sure what to do with that info- anybody out there experienced with this area??

I believe encoder pro would be your local RVU so no GPCI calculation involved so it should be RVU x Conversion factor for the 100% CMS rate. Typically offices will inflate based off that. Maybe look at the top procedures performed and see how costs related to the 100% MC rate and use that as basis for the inflator. Just remember all insurance companies and self pay patients need to be charged the same amount so that may need to be taken into consideration.
