I know that a psychiatrist can but can a clinical psychologist bill for a pre-surgical consult? I'm pretty sure that they cannot but do not want to give out that infor w/o some confirmation.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes, a psychologist may bill for a consult. Here's the catch: they cannot use an E/M code to capture that charge. My guess would be 90801--but without reviewing the documentation, it's only a guess.

Good luck!

Thanks Kevin. I needed the confirmation before passing that info on to a client. Thanks also for the suggestion - I'll look into it further.
How the heck do you remember all of those initials??!!
