Can a RN code and bill for 98966-98968?

Not typically, as an RN is a usually clinical staff member as defined in CPT. However, it depends on their state scope of practice and what services they are providing. If the RN meets the definition of other qualified health care professional as defined in CPT (allowed by licensure and scope of practice to provide and independently report a service), the codes could apply. The codes are more typically used by physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists. Cindy
