Hello,

Can an Nurse Practitioner or a Physicians Assistant bill for Observation Codes 99234, 99235, 99236 for a Medicare Patient at the Hospital? Is that allowed by Medicare?

Thank you.

sorry, I am not an expert but I see nobody responded. I just wanted to mention that for 2023 there is no more Observation codes. per guidance, we use Inpatient codes instead. and NP can bill for it; not sure about PA ( I recall "incident to rule" has to be applied when MD is supervising)
