Can CPT 25066 be billed with CPT 64721 within the same incision site? Doctor performs an open carpal tunnel procedure and then documents: "Of note, transverse carpal ligament was very thick, moderate amount of tenosynovitis in the carpal tunnel." As a separate procedure independent of the carpal tunnel release, I performed a deep biopsy of the wrist specifically to evaluate for the presence of amyloid with the goal of diagnosing amyloidosis before the onset of more serious systemic manifestations. I first exposed the flexor tendons deep in the carpal tunnel. I then used scissors to carefully excise a small amount of the tenosynovium while protecting the tendons underneath. This was sent to pathology with instructions to evaluate for amyloid. Incision was thoroughly irrigated. Wound was closed with nylon sutures on the skin.

Any help would be appreciated, I am not finding much information on this otherwise.
Thank you in advance!
