This is a weird question, so i apologize. My director wants to be sure that CRNAs can bill same CPTs as Anesthesiologists. I have not found any documentation anywhere that says CRNAs are restricted from billing a CPT from Anesthesia section of CPT book.

We need to bill 00103 for blephs, but we use CRNA not an MD. My thought is that we just add modifier QZ to all anes CPTs we bill.

Any advise??

Thanks.

Yes, the CRNA can bill the same as the MDA ( MD, anesthesiologist). Only need to use the appropriate Medicare provider code when needed. There is not restrictions as to the procedure a CRNA does compared to the MDA.

Hope this helps,

Connie
