HI everyone. CAN I BILL 99214 94010 AND 94016 together? do i need a modifier? to bill for all 3 codes

There's an NCCI edit between the office visit code and either of the other codes you listed. If there was a distinct and separately identifiable office visit that day, you'd need a modifier to bill it.

With the caveat that I'm not a pulmonology coder, I'm also curious why the 94010 and 94016 would be billed together. (That's based on just reading the description of both CPTs - as I said, I'm definitely not a pulmonology expert.)

94016 is Patient-initiated spirometric recording per 30-day period of time; review and interpretation only by a physician or other qualified health care professional
94010 is Spirometry, including graphic record, total and timed vital capacity, expiratory flow rate measurement(s), with or without maximal voluntary ventilation

Was the provider reviewing and interpreting the spirometric recordings the patient performed at home across a 30 day period? Or did the provider perform the spirometry in the office? Or both?
