Wiki Can NP's supervise stress tests?

My cardiology practice is located in Michigan and we have a nurse practitioner and PA. I was trying to inquire if there were guidelines per CMS or the AMA that states that we can bill under the supervision of a NP or PA without the physician present in the building for stress tests and nuclear stress tests. Can anyone give me some insight on this?

Thank you.

It has been years since I managed a cardiology practice, but one of our doctors was always on site, and usually in the room during the stress test just in case of a major event. Most stress tests are done because of some type cardiac issue or event so it would make good medical sense to have the cardiologist and a crash cart close by.
