hello-when counting cancer with mets for the medical decision making, is it counted as 1 or 2 diagnoses? our senior coder says 1, I am thinking 2.

Hello,

I am consider 2 points in MDM table A when the patient doesn't have a mets in the previous visit because of established problem worsening and has been identified in this encounter.

However the HPI state that the patient comes with cancer with mets at that point we need to consider 1 point.

Need to know others comments.
