My doc did anterior and posterior capsulorrhaphy w/ interval closure. Pt had a large Hill-Sachs lesion as well as an anterior impaction of the anterior inferior glenoid. The anterior aspect was fixed w/ 2 Bio-lnotless suture anchors, Ethabon and had Ethabon plication posteriorly.
He wants to bill 29806 2 times seperately as he states 'double the work for a usual capsulorrhaphy'.
Any ideas on this?
I thought this could only be billed once.

It would also be a good idea for the surgeon to dictate WHY this was such a difficult surgery, what aboiut it constituted "double the work" ... this will help with any appeal you might have to make to get the extra $ for the -22 modifier.
