Hello All,
My physician was performing a Rt/Lft Heart Cath and attempted to place a coil in the Rt collateral, but it did not coil properly and protruded out slightly into the aorta, he states this coil needed to be retrieved and was successfully done and he wants to bill a retrieval code as well as the Cath code. So my question is, should a retrieval code be reported with the Cath code?

It looks like you have the wrong forum. You may want to repost this is the forum that is specific to cardiology, instead of the forum where the topic is the AAPC Coding Chalenge. You will probably get a quicker and more reliable answer as well. Good Luck!
