If our physician is going to a care home to see patients the first week of the month, and then is called back out to see some of the same patients 3 weeks later, can he bill both of those services in the same month? I have not been able to find anything stating whether we are allowed to bill the care home services more than once in a month. He doesn't want to bill them out and get in trouble, but from what I see as long as he bills a focused service, to address the issue he was called in to handle (and documents accordingly), it should be fine. I have not been able to find anything from Medicare stating there is a limit to the number of care home services a patient can receive in a month. Any input or documentation anyone can provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
