Wiki Cast discomfort

Pt came into the ER because his cast was to tight and they cut a square hole in the cast to give it "room" to breath. What code would i use? We did not place the cast on the patient.
post-op pain?
G89.18? and the zcode for after care and adjustment?:confused

I would agree that G89.18 would be the correct code to use with the appropriate Z-codes as identifiers.

if this was due to injury or trauma, you would not use an aftercare Z code you would use the injury code with a subsequent care 7th character.
