Hello Team,
Could you please explain to me why AAPC quiz has this answer? If the surgeon did only the surgery and not Post op service, then we should bill it with modifier 54 only. But the answer was to bill with -54 and -55? I don't understand the correct answer. Thank you very much for your rational. :)

That question comes directly from the article in the magazine - there's a full rationale and explanation on page 42.
 
Thank you very much for your response! :) I should've read the magazine first before Newsletters. Wow, so I learned today that even if the surgeon spends any days on post-op care (even if it's 2 days) before relinquishing it to Optometrist, the surgeon can bill for post op with a modifier 55. and I understood that box 19 on the claim will allow to enter those days. I am glad I learn it.
