Has anyone billed Femtosecond laser to Medicare? just to please a patient? If so, what code did you use?

Thank you!

An older article I read by Corcoran Consulting suggested either S9986 (not medically necessary, pt aware they are responsible for payment). Medicare won't accept the S code. However, since the laser is an optional service, you essentially want to be sure MC rejects the charge.
