Hi I have a question my Dr was doing cataract surgery on a patient he removed the cataract and the patient was not able to go further with the procedure so he had to suture him up and so he was not able to insert the new lens and will have to do that at a later surgery date how would I code this for the orriginal surgery and the followup surgery.

For the original surgery review CPT series 66840-66940 and select the appropriate code depending on the surgical approach used.
For the followup surgery to place the IOL use code 66985.
