For 2017,

Is it correct to use the following code -

Left Heart Cath 93458-26
Radial Access 36140-51 or 59?
Conscious Sedation 99152 (any modifiers?)

Thank you!

Catheter positions are part of the heart cath code (or bundled).

Jim Pawloski, CIRCC my question is then. Can 99152 & 93458 be billed together OR is the 99152 only when my Doctors do a stent placement?

Sorry for being so late with my reply. Yes you can bill for moderate sedation with the new sedation codes.

36140 with Heart Cath 93458

Jim,
Would you code 36140 when the Rt radial arterial access was abandoned after the 6 F sheath was inserted into the rt radial artery? I normally charge 36140 as it is a separately distinct access and the Rt. Radial access was not utilized for the heart cath; femoral access was utilized for the Heart Cath.
Thank you,

No, 36140 is for lower extremity. 36120 retrograde brachial is the code you want.

Jim
