Does anyone know if you can bill CC (99291) with same-day-admit-discharge (99234-99236)
 
Yes, but it would be unusual for someone to need critical care and then be discharged the same day.
 
The 2 circumstances I have is that the pt expired and then the other one is the pt is transferred to a higher level of care. For each scenario the physician wanting to bill 99291 and 99236. Any thoughts??
 
As long as you have doc to support the level separate from the critical care then you should be able to bill them together. The problem with not billing the admit/discharge is that the readmission to the higher level facility might be denied if there is no discharge billed from the transferring facility.
