Are there any CCS credentialed coders out there who can give me any tips, strategies, etc for passing the CCS exam?

I am not CCS certified but I am going to school for it. You might want to go on Ahima's website and post your question on their forums. I would probably go with Ahima's prep book.

CCS Prep

I used the professional review guide and Faye Brown to prep for the CCS. I used AHIMA's Clinical Coding Workout book with answers. I found the best preparation was taking mock tests and having answer keys with ratrionales. Unfortunately, there is no prep book without mistakes, so if you disagree with the answer key be sure to search coding clinics and the official coding guidelines to determine if the answer key is correct or not. You can also search the internet for an updated answer key or errata list for any book you use. I hope that helps. Good luck!
