Good morning. I am hoping someone may be able to advise if code 36430 is truly for billing for physician services only. Optum 360's EnCoder Pro lists in the lay description that "the physician transfuses blood" etc etc. However, when a provider who provides Cell Saver services intraoperatively, does not store but transfuses the blood at that time. Code 36430 is the only transfusion code that does not reference intrauterine or a newborn. If it is the technician that is actually administering the transfusion, what code should it be billed with if not the 36430 ?

Cell saver services is a new animal to me and I am not exactly sure of all of the ins and outs of it.
