Wiki Cerclage Removal

Hi,

I understand that if the same provider who inserted the cerclage removes it, the removal is included in the insertion (under local anesthesia). If a different provider removes the cerclage, an E&M can be billed. What happens if the same provider inserts and removes the cerclage, but in different facilities with different NPI numbers? Can we bill the E&M?

Yes, as long as you add a modifier 25 to the E&M visit.
