Wiki Cerumen impaction and hearing loss

Hello, my provider performed an ear lavage due to b/l cerumen impaction H61.23. Provider also coded Unspecified hearing loss, H91.90. Problem is that there is an excludes note 1 under H91.90 that states H61.2- (cerumen impaction) cannot be coded together. So would it be correct to just code H61.23 for the b/l cerumen impaction?

for example with 69210: typically the insurance pays when those 2 Dx H61.2x and H91.90 "A" and "B" are listed on the claim, but you just don't put "B" on the liner with 69210 etc.

ENTcoderConnecticut, an Ear Lavage cannot be coded 69210 as suggested by you. Your suggestion to delink the diagnoses is excellent, but the ear lavage is coded 69209.
