Hello I have a Cystolitholapaxy stone size greater than 2.5cm
along with per Dr. a Channel TURP

1). Cystolitholapaxy
2). Channel TURP
3). Bilateral retrograde pyelogram

" Bladder stone attached to the bladder mucosa and the circumferential fashion around the bladder neck..
All visible stone was removed and I then performed a Channel TURP to remove the mucosa that the bladder stone was attached to.
I could see the stone growing through the wall of the bladder neck and prostatic base mucosa..
I performed a superficial resection of the mucosa at the bladder neck and of the mucosa of the prostatic base to remove all of the stone.
The clinic coder billed out
CPT code 52234 - Cystourethoscopy with fulguration and or resection of small bladder tumor 2.0cm.
The only problem is that this is not a tumor it is a stone
I feel that 52318 address the bladder stone.
But do not know what a CHANNEL TURP IS OR CPT CODE IF CAN BE CODED.
would someone take a look at this one for me
Thanks,
Carol

I would suggest the following coding for your clinical scenario:
52500 it appears that the resection was only at the bladder neck, and
52310 the removal of the stone
