We are a cancer center, and would like to know if we can charge an E/M during the global period after removal of a malignancy when the doctor discusses/plans/coordinates chemotherapy with the patient. The docs say that their time in doing this is independent of just checking the incision. Can we charge, and if so, what diagnosis are you using?
