Question: I was wondering how you all charge for simple wound closures for Urgent Cares. If a patient comes in complaining that they cut themselves and they need sutures (satples, ect) Do you charge an E&M code as well at the simple repair code? I have gone round and round with this one. Some say DO NOT charge an E&M and that the E&M is included in the Simple repair wound closure code and some say DO charge and E&M along with the repair code EVEN IF they were only there for the cut ect.

Next question: IF they need a tdap vaccine...Does that automatically get the the E&M code?

HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR CLOSURES IN URGENT CARE settings?
