Charging inpatient ob care only

I have a patient who was seen in an office for 2 visits prior to c-section delivery. The general surgeon did the c-section and billed such. The doc from the office did the inpatient visits after delivery until discharge. What would you code for this, 59430?

Hi Chelsie,

Are the two providers from the same office? If so, then I would say code the two ante-partum care using appropriate OP e/m codes along with code covers the type of delivery with post-partum service (59410,59515,59614 or 59622). If the providers are from different groups/offices, its a whole other ball game.
