I am new to the area of chemotherapy administration and I have some billing questions regarding the use of oral medications. Is there a resource (ANY resource) that would help me to understand how (if) the use of oral medications is used in an office setting and how it should be billed? I'm okay with obvious medications for which there are HCPCs codes, but I'm having some trouble with oral medications such as acetaminophen and Boniva that might be given to the patients during treatment.

ANY input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

I don't think you can charge anything other than the Tylenol itself...or Boniva.
There are no adm charges..for these. Po in the office?

My understanding is that since these are typically considered self-administrable and considered non-covered. Is that correct?
