I just started in a chiropractic office and had previously been in a physician office and moved to an office that is a little behind on regulations and just want to make sure that I can get everything where it needs to be.

Can anyone tell me....

If you are seeing Medicare patients for chiropractic care and they are paying cash do you still have to have ABN's on file? If so do you have to have new ABN's every year?

Another question is with Medicare patients for office exam 99212,99213,99202,99203 can you bill those to Medicare if the patients are not acute?

Thanks for your help in advance. Any help is appreciated! :D

Kindest Regards,

I'm on the payor side, but we follow Medicare guidelines, so your best bet is probably going to be to consult your states Medicare carrier's LCD regarding chiropractor services. This should clarify exactly what is billable/reimbursable. Good luck :)
