What dx codes would you use for a patient who has documented cholelithiasis with acute cholecystitis and chronic cholecystitis. Need some clarification.. Thanks

Since there isn't a combined code for acute and chronic together, you need to code both the acute code and chronic code (574.0x, 574.1x - 5th digit of 0 w/o mention of obstruction or 1 w/obstruction).

Ok thats what i used. I wanted clarification because another coder used 574.20, 575.0, 575.11 for the exact same senario. That is not correct is it?

Agree with using 574.0X and 574.1X. Would not use 574.8X, as this is for gallbladder and bile duct.
