Our biller is coding chondroplasty with the compartments listed alone with modifer 59 and we are getting denied please help. Blue Shield of NJ is our problem
 
If this is a straight chondroplasty (29877) it can only be bill one time regardless of the number of compartments. However if it is an abrasion arthroplasty (29879) it can be billed per compartment.
